Student Diversity & Inclusion Travel Grants
ISSRE 2025 offers grants for students from underrepresented groups to attend. A unique chance to join the conference on software reliability.

The International Symposium on Software Reliability Engineering (ISSRE 2025) is committed to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion in the research community. In this sense, we are pleased to announce the availability of three (3) grant opportunities for students.
We encourage participation from underrepresented groups and diverse institutions across all geographical regions. Women, minorities, early graduate students, those who have limited financial resources and first-time conference attendees are especially encouraged to apply. These grants will enable sharing scientific information and stimulating research interests for (specially, young) researchers in the field who might otherwise be unable to attend the conference.
Grant Details
Financial AidUS$ 500 US$ 500 to help cover travel and/or accommodation costs (the organization make flights purchase and/or hotel reservations directly);

Eligibility requirements
The student applicant must be a full-time student registered toward a Bachelor's, Masters', or PhD degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field in a college or university when submitting their applications.
Priority will be given to students who:- Have limited financial resources;
- Belong to groups historically underrepresented in computing (e.g., by gender, geographic region, socioeconomic background);
- Are involved in activities that promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in their communities;
- Will attend the conference for the first time
How to apply
Applications should be submitted, in English, only through the online form, including:
- Motivation letter (maximum of one page) describing academic interests, your motivation to attend ISSRE 2025, title and authors of paper presenting at ISSRE 2025 (if applicable), engagement in community activities or diversity-related initiatives and how your participation contributes to diversity and your career development;
- A short CV (maximum of two pages); the document should include Name, affiliation, address, study level (PhD, MS, or undergraduate), academic experience and achievements;
- A letter of recommendation. This is a reference letter from a supervisor or a faculty member and should include a confirmation that the student is a Ph.D., M.S., or undergraduate student in good academic standing at the given institution, the strengths and potential contributions of the student and confirm the financial need for the student to attend the conference.
Evaluation criteria
We will use the following evaluation criteria:
- Underrepresented Identity (self-declared with follow-up validation);
- Socioeconomic Need (financial statement + supporting documentation);
- Contribution & Engagement (community activities or diversity-related initiatives);
- Letter of Recommendation.
A diverse review committee, lead by the Diversity & Inclusion Chair, will evaluate the submission. This committee will include at least one individual from an underrepresented group. Reviewers will be provided with a brief training guide to ensure fairness and reduce bias.
Incomplete applications will not be considered.
